The Brenez workshops
The Brenez workshops

The Brenez workshops began by repairing and then developing equipment for the porphyry quarries around Lessines, Belgium.

With no successors, Mr. Brenez sold the business to Ateliers Louis Carton, a leading supplier to the cement industry, creating the ALC Lessines division.

Creation of Ateliers de Lessines SA
Creation of Ateliers de Lessines SA

Ateliers Louis Carton in Tournai (Belgium) was acquired by the Polysius group (Germany). The Carton family retained the Lessines division, leading to the creation of Ateliers de Lessines SA as an independent entity. 

BOP HAREN
BOP HAREN

Ateliers de Lessines acquired the grinding operations of BOP HAREN in Brussels, adding the renowned centrifugal grinders to its range.

Foundation of Lessines Industries SA
Foundation of Lessines Industries SA

Focused on bulk processing solutions, Lessines Industries SA was founded by René Rubbers, leading to a split between the design office and manufacturing workshop. The company moved to Tournai.

Lessines Industries acquired the operations of the Swiss shredder manufacturer, Gutba.

Stéphane Rubbers

Stéphane Rubbers, son of René and Carton’s grandson, joined the company.

France branch

The Lessines Industries France branch was established.

The offices of Lessines Industries relocated to Péruwelz.

The company was taken over by Stéphane Rubbers and Sébastien Heymans.

The new test facility was inaugurated, marking a key milestone in our commitment to innovation and quality.
The commercial name changed to “Lessine.”
The independent entity Lessine France was established.
